Goodbyes

Its market day in the square,  I love the smells and the sounds and the hum of activity.  I don´t think I have scratched the surface of life in Guatamala in the month we have worked our way thru the country.  I do know a lot of the feelings and what is the external aspects like what a typical town looks like,  the simple way the people walk unhurried along the street while cars and motorcycles operate without any seeming laws or order and there are no accidents.  This is truly an amazing place populated by amazing people.  Mark says the country as a whole is suffering from ptsd that the civil war foisted by the Fruit growing companies brought about and ended  some 12 years ago.   There is an aura of suspicion this is true but there is also signs of great recovery.   Glen and I sold our horses this morning and I saw Glen off on the bus back to San Marcos to conclude his dealings there.   We will meet again in 4 days at the airport.  As for me I will try and wind down from this gan adventura maybe spend it on the coast on the beach instead of driving around on the old school buses.   Its almost anticlimactic in a way.  I really do not have a desire to travel a lot in a short time.   The slow plodding of the horses has cured me of that.  I want to believe I will see them again.  Feel the gentle rocking to and fro on Genee´s back,  reach down and touch Exee when she comes up alongside.   Brush them in the morning before loading up.  Smell their smell as I sleep under the saddle blankets at nite.  Who knows.  They do not seem to sense our parting but maybe its better that way.  Non attachment is a very valuable skill in understanding how consciousness works, it brings tremendous peace,  it is a difficult one to learn to not be tethered to a particular outcome but accept and surrender to what unfolds from the product of our intent and desire.   It certainly nessesitates a fearless presence in the here and now.  And if that happens there is only one thing left.   LOVE
