Down the Road

Hands at ten o'clock and two
down the road, down the road
all my eyes can see is you
down the road down the road
looking at the gauges, my life is turning pages
down the road
hands at seven o'clock and five
down the road down the road
I am breathing, I'm alive
down the road down the road
looking at the gauges, my life is turning pages
down the road
one hand on my knee
down the road down the road
my other hand at three
down the road down the road
looking at the gauges my life is turning pages
down the road
out here on the 'lone prairie'
down the road down the road
hope you still remember me
down the road down the road
looking at the gauges my life is turning pages
down the road
my car is over heating
down the road down the road
a trooper says I'm speeding
down the road down the road
looking at the gauges my life is turning pages
down the road
things are bigger than they appear
down the road down the road
'cause I keep looking in the mirror
down the road down the road
looking at the gauges my life is turning pages
down the road
I'm signaling to pass
down the road down the road
that trooper can kiss my ass
down the road down the road
looking at the gauges my life is turning pages
down the road
back to ten o,clock and two
down the road down the road
haven't stopped think'in 'bout you
down the road down the road
looking at the gauges my life is turning pages
down the road

I love the lines "things are bigger than they appear

                       down the road

'cause I keep looking in the mirror".

I think what I like most about those three lines is that in a car when you look in the mirror you look behind, in the past. All other times when you look in the mirror, you are looking at yourself. In each of those instances we are so much bigger that we appear.

nice!
